Lydia Ko has made a promising start to the first LPGA Major of the year, carding a two-under par 70 at the ANA Inspiration in California.
Starting on the back nine, Ko opened with three pars, before a birdie on the 13th hole took her to one-under.
It didn't all go Ko's way though, as bogeys on the 15th and 17th holes pushed the Kiwi's scorecard to one-over, before a birdie on the 18th meant an even par from her first nine holes.
Another bogey had Ko back in the red, but birdies on the second, fifth and ninth holes meant a first-round scorecard of two-under.
Ko's first round has her in an 11-way tie for seventh place, four shots back of the outright leader.
Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit, who shot a six-under score of 66, holds the lead heading into the second round on Saturday (NZ time).
Ko has tasted victory at the ANA Inspiration in the past, winning the tournament as her second Major victory back in 2016.
