The Blackcaps have breathed a sigh of relief, with batsman Ross Taylor cleared of major injury.
Taylor limped out of the nets at Monday's training, prompting immediate concern over his well-being.
But further assessments have revealed a grade one muscle strain to his left calf, which should mean he's able to return to batting as soon as next week.
The 37-year-old has been struggled with injury this season, most recently missing the first two of the Blackcaps' three one-day internationals against bBangladesh.
The Blackcaps are currently assembled at their training base in Lincoln for the first of two three-day camps, as they prepare for their test tour to England next month.
New Zealand will play two tests against England at Lord's and Edgbaston, before the World Test Championship final against India at Southampton, beginning on June 18.
