The Northern Mystics have leapfrogged the Northern Stars to top the ANZ premiership ladder following a 65-57 victory in Auckland.
The top-of-the-table clash was a see-saw affair with the Stars leading through the first half, but off the back of a great shooting night from Grace Nweke, who netted 55 of 59 shots, the Mystics slowly took over.
Silver Ferns shooter Maia Wilson had a strong night under the goal for the Stars, sinking 35 of 41 attempts.
The win lifts the Mystics to 27 points - two above the Stars with the Mainland Tactix and Southern Steel tied for third with 18 points.
The Stars led by two at the end of the first quarter, and one at the end of the second, but the Mystics made their move at the backend of the game - overwhelming their Auckland rivals through the sharp-shooting of Nweke.
The final two frames were won 36-28 by the Mystics, who flexed their ANZ Premiership muscles with the playoffs approaching quickly in two weeks' time, with the top three set to qualify.
