Play on day three of the first test between the Blackcaps and England at Lord's in London has been abandoned due to rain, without a ball being bowled.
England finished day two on 111-2 and trail New Zealand by 267 runs in the first innings, after the visitors posted a total of 378 on the back of debutant Devon Conway's double ton.
Rory Burns (59) and skipper Joe Root (42) were at the crease at stumps on day two, after the home side lost Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley.
Play will resume at Saturday night (NZ time), with at least 98 overs to be bowled on each of the final days, as they look to make up for lost time.
It leaves just two days for the Blackcaps to try and chase their first test win at Lord's since 1999, which bowling coach Shane Jurgensen believes is still within reach.
"I think there's still enough time to potentially believe that there can be a result," says Jurgensen.
"The advantage for us is we've got the runs on the board and that’s always good, to be in front at this stage of the game in terms of runs.
"It's going to be tough to get a result, but at the same time we've still got to believe and keep pushing."
The local weather forecast looks more promising for the final two days of play, as the Blackcaps bowling attack prepares to chase the quick wickets it will need to have any hope of forcing a result.
"It's just a matter of us getting back in that test mode, of being patient and bowling the way that we know that we can bowl," Jurgensen adds.
"I thought it was a really good start yesterday, getting back into test cricket bowling again. We'll look to do that tomorrow, and hopefully we can make our way into the England batting."
