England bowler Ollie Robinson will reportedly be dropped from the test side regardless of his performance against New Zealand, after a series of racist and sexist tweets were brought to light.
Debutant Robinson, 27, came under fire on the opening day of the first test against the Blackcaps at Lord's after a number of his tweets dating back to 2012 went viral on social media.
Having taken the wickets of Tom Latham and Ross Taylor on day one, Robinson dismissed Colin de Grandhomme and Kyle Jamieson on day two to finish as the pick of England's bowlers with 4/75.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Robinson will face the axe for the second test of the series at Birmingham's Edgbaston, as the England Cricket Board look to clamp down on discrimination in the game.
The news came after England donned black shirts wearing messages as part of its anti-discrimination campaign on the first day at Lord's.
The ECB is currently investigating Robinson's tweets, sent in 2012 and 2013. That investigation could see Robinson out of the side until its completion, potentially wiping him from England's upcoming five-test series against India.
"He had to say sorry to the dressing room, he had to say sorry to the world about what he did," said England assistant coach Graham Thorpe.
"So from that perspective it's very hard for him but he knows he made mistakes. So at the end of the day, that's why he had to make those apologies. But in our dressing room, we had to support him as well."
The second test between England and the Blackcaps begins on June 10.
