Blues halfback Finlay Christie was sitting in an Auckland bar with his teammates when he found out he had fulfilled his All Black dream.
One of four new caps in Ian Foster's squad for the 2021 season, Christie was celebrating Saturday's Super Rugby Trans-Tasman victory in the bar, nervously watching Monday's team naming.
CCTV video shows Christie and several of his teammates glued to a screen inside the bar when his name is announced by NZR chairman Stewart Mitchell.
The 25-year-old is then engulfed as his Blues buddies erupt in celebration, swarming the Tasman halfback with hugs.
Born in Scotland, Christie was also eligible to play for the Scots, but a stand-out campaign with his Super Rugby franchise has led him to an All Blacks jersey.
