Marquee striker Tomer Hemed has left Wellington Phoenix after the 2020/21 A-League season.
Hemed, 34, signed with the Phoenix on a one-year contract at the start of the 2020/21 season, scoring a club-high 11 goals and registering a further three assists in his 21 appearances.
But the club on Saturday confirmed that Hemed will not return for a second season in the capital, following the expiration of his contract.
Hemed was a key figure in the Phoenix's record 11-game unbeaten run to finish the 2020/21 season, scoring five goals in five games to end the season.
The Phoenix finished seventh in the A-League regular season, one point off a play-off spot behind Macarthur FC.
The departure of the former Israel international leaves the Phoenix with only Ben Waine and the returning Gary Hooper as frontline strikers for the upcoming 2021/22 season.
