Golf: Lydia Ko moves into contention at LPGA's Scottish Open, four shots off leader heading into final round

Lydia Ko has moved into contention at the LPGA's Scottish Open, four shots behind the leading trio heading into the final round.

Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Ko, 24, came away with a three-under-par in her third round, moving to five-under for the tournament.

Starting on the front nine, Ko made six consecutive pars to open her third round - before back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. Another par on the ninth had the Kiwi at two-under at the halfway stage.

Ko made another birdie on the 15th and closed out a blemish-free round to move up to a tie for seventh, having started the day back in 20th on the leaderboard.

The round has Ko in a five-way tie for seventh place at five-under, four shots back of the leading trio Ryann O'Toole of the US, England's Charley Hull and Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn, all at nine-under heading into the final round in Fife.

South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai and Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul are tied for fourth at eight-under, while Sweden's Anna Nordqvist is sixth at sixth-under, one shot ahead of Ko.
