Melbourne Storm's Kiwi hooker Brandon Smith has provided another entry into his rapidly expanding file of post-game gems.
After Thursday night's 26-16 win over Canberra Raiders, Smith revealed he'd been involved in a bizarre accident on the morning of the match involving nudity and a glass shower door.
"I was having a sleep and then I woke up and went to go to the toilet and I was naked and walked straight into the glass shower and the whole thing smashed all over me," Smith tells Channel Nine.
"Cut me everywhere. It was a terrible start to the day."
And when Smith said 'everywhere', he meant 'everywhere'.
"I copped a knock to the 'goonads', my precious jewels, and I copped a knock to the neck and AC joint," he recalls, as teammate Harry Grant jolts with laughter next to him.
"Hopefully [coach Craig Bellamy] gives me the week off next week."
The Waiheke Island product scored one of the Storm's tries, as they repelled a late Raiders comeback to record their 18th straight win of the season.
The Storm also set a new club record for most points in a season and will look to equal the all time record of 19 wins in a row held by the 1975 Sydney Roosters, when they tackle Gold Coast Titans next week.
