NRL 2021: Matt Lodge returns for NZ Warriors' must-win clash against Canberra Raiders

NZ Warriors will welcome back Matt Lodge, Sean O'Sullivan and Kodi Nikorima for their must-win clash with Canberra Raiders in Mackay on Friday.

The 26-year-old Lodge has served a two-match suspension for a careless tackle against Cronulla Sharks and will play his fifth game for his new club, since leaving Brisbane Broncos last month.

O'Sullivan will partnered Chad Townsend in the halves, with a foot injury sidelining Chanel Harris-Tavita. He's expected to be available for selection next week.

Utility Kodi Nikorima comes back onto the bench, after missing Sunday's loss to the Broncos to be with his partner for the birth of their second child.

Apart from Nikorima, the gameday bench remains the same as that originally selected last week, with Bunty Afoa, Eliesa Katoa and Jazz Tevaga filling the other spots.

Included on the extended bench is centre Rocco Berry, who has been sidelined with a  hamstring injury, as well as Kane Evans, who hasn't featured since his infamous 'double sinbinning' against the Sharks.

The Warriors need to win their two remaining games against the Raiders and Gold Coast Titans, then hope other results go their way to have any chance of advancing to the NRL playoffs.

The Raiders are one of three teams sitting directly above the 11th-placed Warriors on 20 competition points.

The BB Print Stadium in North Queensland will be the Warrior's fifth 'home' venue this season, as they face a short turnaround from Sunday's game to take on the Raiders.
