Rugby: French company Altrad signs on as All Blacks', Black Ferns' new jersey sponsors

French building supplies company Altrad will take over as the All Blacks' and the Black Ferns' front of jersey sponsor, replacing AIG in 2022.

The French construction giant, which also sponsors the French national team, was given the nod by New Zealand Rugby last Friday at the same board meeting that saw All Blacks coach Ian Foster's contract renewed.

Altrad and New Zealand Rugby have signed a six-year deal, seeing the All Blacks wear the French company's branding at the 2023 Rugby World Cup - also in France.

Newshub understands that Altrad have secured the deal ahead of Land Rover, who were believed to have been the front runner as late as last month.

Altrad replaces the outgoing AIG as the front of shirt sponsor, with the American insurance firm having held that position since 2012.

Altrad's position as an All Blacks sponsor comes less than a month after British petrochemical company INEOS was announced as another commercial partner.

INEOS will have their branding displayed on the All Blacks' shorts.
