All Blacks halfback Brad Weber will continue to play his rugby in New Zealand through the 2023 season.
The 30-year-old has signed a two-year extension with NZ Rugby and Super Rugby's Chiefs.
Weber has made 98 appearances for his beloved Chiefs since the 2014 season, as well as 10 tests for the All Blacks, since making his debut in 2015.
“I’m really pleased to have signed with NZR and the Chiefs till 2023," says Weber. "My season with the Chiefs this past year was one of the most enjoyable I have had.
“I love the plan that the Chiefs have in place for the next two years, something that is very exciting for the players and our fans alike, and which is something I definitely want to be a part of.
"The potential to play 100 games for the Chiefs next year is a massive goal of mine that I would love to achieve.
“As always, I love representing the All Blacks. I do not take for granted whenever I am selected and am looking forward to growing my role within the team, while representing my family on the world stage."
Chiefs interim coach Clayton McMillan says Weber is a key leader within the squad and retaining the No.9 was key in laying out the two years.
"He is an incredibly talented and experienced halfback, leading from the front with his consistent performances, effective attack and reliable support play," says McMillan.
"He has been exceptional both on and off the field for us, and we look forward to hopefully adding him to our prolific list of club centurions next year."
Weber made his provincial rugby debut for Otago in 2012, after starring for the New Zealand U20 side.
A 2015 All Blacks call-up came after a stellar Super Rugby campaign with the Chiefs, with Weber earning his first cap against Manu Samoa.
In the absence of the injured Sam Cane and unavailable Brodie Retallick, Weber co-captained the Chiefs in 2021 and continues to play a role in the wider All Blacks squad.
