Queensland seems poised to host the 2021 Rugby Championship, while the third Bledisloe Cup test between the All Blacks and Australia will likely be played in Perth.
According to Australia's Fox Sports, SANZAAR officials haved finalised plans to see the competition staged in Queensland, with State Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk expected to make an announcement on Tuesday.
The Rugby Championship would be played over four consecutive weeks from September 10- October 3, with Brisbane, Townsville and the Gold Coast as venues.
The move will see the All Blacks travel from New Zealand, currently locked down at COVID-19 Alert Level 4, while the Springboks and Argentina will both depart South Africa, where they've already played two tests.
Queensland is also hosting both the NRL and AFL competitions, with teams in strict biosecure bubbles outside matches.
But Queensland's AFL hosting is proving particularly problematic for the third and final Bledisloe Cup test, with fixture clashes likely to mean the All Blacks and Wallabies play at Perth's Optus Stadium on the opening weekend of September.
A sold-out Optus Stadium was scheduled to host Bledisloe III on August 28, before New Zealand went into lockdown and the All Blacks suspended their travel to Western Australia.
