Donald Trump wants to step into the commentary box for UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort's bout with Evander Holyfield, because "he likes big men", according to The AM Show host Ryan Bridge.
An avid combat sports fan and regular UFC attendee, former US President Trump has revealed he will "host and commentate" at the event taking place in Florida on Sunday (NZ time).
"I love great fighters and great fights," Trump said. "I look forward to seeing both and sharing my thoughts ringside."
During Thursday's edition of The AM Show, Bridge shared what he thinks Trump's real reason was for taking up the commentary gig.
"Donald Trump has a thing for big men," Bridge says.
To back up his claim, Bridge played a viral video of Trump collated by Vice News in 2019, 'Donald Trump is a fan of big strong guys'.
The video is nearly three minutes long.
"It just goes on and on and on," Bridge says of the video. "He's just slightly obsessed with certain things, isn't he, Donald Trump?"
Trump is a longtime fan of combat sports, dating back to the early 2000s, when his New Jersey casinos hosted several UFC pay-per-view events.
UFC president Dana White was often a guest speaker during Trump's presidential campaigns and threw his support behind Trump's 2020 re-election bid, which he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
