England have completed a record one-day international run chase to seal series victory against the White Ferns at Derby.
Set 245 for the win, skipper Heather Knight's 101 steered her side home and despite a late stumble, the two-wicket win gives the hosts an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
Earlier, Amy Satterthwaite (54), Katey Martin (65no) and Sophie Devine (41) combined to lift New Zealand to an extremely competitive total, as they looked to square the series.
Satterthwaite and Martin added 84 in 16 overs to push the Ferns towards 250, but despite a late flurry from Brooke Halliday (28), they finished on 244.
That looked a winning score, when England were reduced to 71/3 in the 16th over, but Knight and wicketkeeper Amy Jones (41) added 100 for the fourth wicket to give the hosts the advantage with 13 overs remaining.
Hannah Rowe's 4/47 kept New Zealand in the contest and when Satterthwaite removed the hard-hitting Sophie Dunkley (0), the hosts needed a run-a-ball from the final 10 overs.
Knight and Danni Wyatt added 52 in 42 balls, before the captain was dismissed by Devine, trying to clear the rope in the penultimate over, and three balls later, Wyatt was trapped in front by the Kiwi captain for 27 and England needed six from the final over.
Amy Shrubsole hit a four down the ground off the first ball of the final over and a wide three-balls later won the game for England.
The final match of the series is in Canterbury on Sunday morning.
