The White Ferns have fought their way back into the one-day international series against England, with a convincing three-wicket win in the third match at Leicester.
After winning the toss and dismissing the hosts for a paltry 178, the NZ women chased down their target with three wickets in hand and just under five overs to spare to keep the five-game series alive at 2-1.
The Ferns run chase was anchored by a composed innings from Player of the Match Maddy Green, who carried her bat with a measured 70 runs off 106 balls, including six boundaries.
Seamer Lea Tahuhu starred with the ball, claiming three early wickets - including the key scalp of Tammy Beaumont for just a single run - on her way to a career-best haul of 5/37.
The result is their second win in 18 matches in the 50-over format, dating back to February 2019.
"It was nice to finally get one over the line," captain Sophie Devine says.
"A little tighter than we'd like... we're closing the gap on England and trending in the right direction heading to the World Cup."
The match proceeded under increased security, after a bomb threat had been received on Tuesday.
NZ Cricket said a threatening email was sent to the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), but later deemed "not credible".
"As has been reported, the ECB have received a threatening email relating to NZC.
"Although this did not specifically reference the White Ferns, it was treated seriously, investigated and deemed not credible.
"The White Ferns have now arrived in Leicester and, as a precaution, security around them has been boosted."
The teams now travel to Derby for the fourth match of the series on Friday.
