Kiwi NRL Brandon Smith has been named among Melbourne Storm players under investigation by the NRL integrity unit, after featuring in videos circulating on social media.
The clips feature Smith, with teammates Cameron Munster and Chris Lewis, gathered around a table with a white substance on it.
A second video features a shirtless Munster dancing around the room and on top of the table.
The clips emerged just days after the Storm's season-ending preliminary final loss to Penrith Panthers on Saturday.
The club has now confirmed that all three players are being questioned by the NRL integrity unit.
"Melbourne Storm is aware of a video provided to the NRL Integrity Unit yesterday," the club says. "The club and players involved are cooperating with the NRL integrity unit investigation.
"As the matter is currently under investigation, the club is not in a position to comment further until this process has been completed."
Chief executive Justin Rodski says the Storm are "very disappointed" by the incident.
"The club is taking this matter extremely seriously," says Rodski. "We are very disappointed to be in this position and will be thorough in our response.
"The players involved have fully cooperated with the NRL and the NRL integrity unit investigation. It is our understanding this investigation is unlikely to be concluded this week.
"Melbourne Storm unashamedly sets high standards and makes no apologies for protecting and upholding the professionalism and values of our organisation.
"The club is conducting its own investigation into the matter and will provide an update on our findings in conjunction with the NRL, when both processes have concluded."
As the videos emerged earlier this week, Storm coach Craig Bellamy admitted he was aware of the incident, but refused to speculate any further.
"I haven't spoken to those guys yet in detail,” Bellamy said at Monday's Dally M Awards, after being named NRL Coach of the Year.
"It’s in front of the integrity unit, so we will see what happens from there. It hurts everybody.
"I don't know the full details yet. I don't want to be saying something, if it's not right.
"I don't know the absolute details and don’t want to comment any further."
Both Smith and Munster were also in attendance at the Dally Ms, where Smith was named NRL Hooker of the Year.
Over the weekend, NZ Warriors rookie star Reece Walsh was found in possession of cocaine outside a Gold Coast nightclub.
Walsh fronted the media later, as the club confirmed he would face a charge of possession of a prohibited substance and would attend substance abuse counselling.
