All Blacks v Argentina: Halfback TJ Perenara braced for 'different beast' after Bledisloe Cup sweep

Despite their success over Australia at Perth, the All Blacks are preparing for a "different beast" against Argentina on the Gold Coast this weekend.

With Sunday's 38-21 victory over the Wallabies sealing a Bledisloe Cup sweep, New Zealand don't have long before gearing up again for their next Rugby Championship encounter.

The condensed schedule of the reorganised Rugby Championship means they will take the field again on Sunday, for their second of five tests in as many weeks.

Up next are Argentina, who bring an entirely different style and approach to what the All Blacks have grown accustomed to after three consecutive tests against the Aussies.

While the Wallabies' tactical approach has been more about skill, Los Pumas will instead bring a much more physical style, looking to take the All Blacks on and match them, rather than trying to beat them at their own game.

That gameplan saw Argentina take a famous 25-15 victory over their rivals in Sydney last year, but with the lessons of Australia firmly tucked away, Perenara knows that the All Blacks will have their work cut out for them.

"I probably can't touch too much on our gameplan going into it, but we understand that it is a different beast coming this week," Perenara says. "They're a very big team, they play with a lot of speed, a lot of passion and they're very physical.

"That's not saying that Australia aren't - they just implement it in different ways. They enjoy that one-on-one collision, they enjoy getting around the corner and coming straight at you.

"It's a part of the game that we'll need to adjust a little bit of our tactics to, but it's something that we're well aware of.

"We know how good that they can be when they get it going well."

The All Blacks play back-to-back tests against Argentina over the next two weekends, before finishing the Rugby Championship with consecutive matches against world champions South African on September 25 and October 2.
