Kiwi Steven Adams has had an unforgettable debut for Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA's pre-season, defeating reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks 87-77 in Tennessee.
Making his first appearance for his new side after an off-season trade from New Orleans Pelicans, Adams logged 22 minutes in the Grizzlies' pre-season hit out.
The Kiwi centre finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and securing 10 rebounds, as well as dishing three assists for his teammates.
Ja Morant led the Memphis scoring with 27 points, while De'Anthony Melton (14) and Desmond Bane (10) also made double-figure contributions.
However, with Memphis ahead 87-77 after the third quarter, FedExForum fire alarms went off and play was suspended.
After a long delay, officials decided to end the game without a fourth quarter, giving the Grizzlies the victory.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Jrue Holiday - who all starred in Milwaukee's NBA title run last season - did not play for the Bucks in this game.
Adams' Grizzlies continue their pre-season with games against Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls.
Memphis begin their 2021/22 NBA season on October 21, facing Cleveland Cavaliers at home.
