Kiwi driver Liam Lawson is within touching distance of the German DTM championship, claiming a podium finish in the penultimate race of the season.
Starting from pole position for Ferrari-backed AF Corse at Nuremberg's Norisring, Lawson took third place on Sunday (NZ time), to give himself an 18-point buffer at the top of the driver's standings.
Lawson, 19, sits at the top of the standings with 224 points - clear of South Africa's Kelvin van der Linde in second on 206, while Germany's Maximillian Götz is a further point back in third.
A further 28 points are available for a first-place finish in the season finale race on Monday morning.
Sunday's result also saw Lawson's AF Corse secure the team championship title with one race to spare.
At 19 years of age, Lawson would become the youngest driver in the history of the event to lift the DTM title - coming after confirmation that he's to test drive for Italian team AlphaTauri at Formula One's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later this year.
Lawson is also eighth in the driver standings in Formula Two, having impressed in his six races so far this year, with three still to come.
Elsewhere, fellow Kiwi and Lawson's teammate Nick Cassidy impressed in his first outing - finishing fifth after stepping into the driver's seat to take the place of Alex Albon, absent due to his commitments as Red Bull's reserve driver in Formula One.
