Kiwi centre Steven Adams has continued his encouraging start to his tenure with Memphis Grizzlies.
On Friday (NZ time), Adams posted a monster double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds to guide the Grizzlies to a 128-98 victory in their pre-season clash with Charlotte Hornets.
In tandem with rising star and frontcourt cohort Jaren Jackson Jr, the 28-year-old used his trademark physicality to dominate the painted area against the young LaMelo Ball-led Hornets, scoring on five of his seven field goal attempts and five of his six free throws.
Adams' contribution comes just two days after posting 10 points and 11 boards against the champion Milwaukee Bucks in his debut for his new franchise, and further cements his role as the team's starting centre.
During the off-season, Adams was traded to the Grizzlies from New Orleans Pelicans for a package including Lithuanian star Jonas Valanciunas.
On Sunday, the Grizzlies will take on Atlanta Hawks in the third of their six pre-season games, ahead of their regular season opener against Cleveland Cavaliers on October 21.
