NZ Warriors fullback Reece Walsh has copped a two-match ban and AUS$5000 fine, after he was arrested for possession of cocaine.
Last month, Walsh, 19, was arrested in Queensland's Surfers Paradise and was found with a small bag of cocaine, when searched by police.
A teary Walsh fronted media later that day, apologising for his actions.
He was already banned for the Warriors' 2022 season opener, after his actions in the side's shambolic performance against Gold Coast Titans. Kane Evans and Jazz Tevaga were also banned for their roles in a series of scuffles between the teams.
The latest sanctions will see Walsh miss three games at the start of the Warriors' next campaign. He will also appear in court later this month, charged with one count of possession of a prohibited substance.
The Warriors can also impose further punishment on Walsh, if deemed necessary.
Heavy fines have been handed out to the Melbourne Storm trio of NZ Kiwis hooker Brandon Smith, Cameron Munster and Chris Lewis.
The trio featured in a social media video, gathered around a table with a white powder on it.
Heavy fines have been handed out to the players, as well as one-match bans that will take them out of Melbourne's 2022 season opener.
Munster has been handed a $30,000 fine, while Smith has copped a $15,000 punishment. Lewis meanwhile will be fined $4000 for his role in the incident.
"I understand that players have endured a long season under strict protocols," NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo says.
"However, there is no excuse for the behaviour we have seen over the past week. The players have let themselves, their clubs and the rugby league community down.
"These sanctions are designed to include an element of rehabilitation and development as well as having consequences for the individual and team."
The players have five days to respond to the sanctions before they are imposed.
