Another standout Big Bash campaign for White Ferns skipper Sophie Devine has led to another accolade for the powerful all-rounder.
Devine has been selected as captain of the WBBL team of the tournament after leading the Perth Scorchers into Saturday's final as the top qualifiers.
The 34-year-old is one of the most decorated players in WBBL history, but her 2021 season is arguably her best yet with bat in hand.
Opening the innings with Australian star Beth Mooney, Devine has scored 407 runs in 13 matches at an average of 34, a strike rate of 131 per 100 balls with a highest score of 101.
As the top qualifying team, the Scorchers avoid a convoluted playoff structure that sees the Brisbane Heat, Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades playoff for the second spot in the final.
Devine will head back to New Zealand next week with a busy summer schedule in store for the White Ferns, that includes a 50-over Cricket World Cup to be staged at home next year.
