NZ Kiwis star Joseph Manu has recommitted to Sydney Roosters through the 2024 NRL season.
With rival clubs - including NZ Warriors - clambering for his signature, the utility back, who plays primarily in the centres at Sydney, has quelled speculation by extending his contract with the club where he has already won two premiership titles.
"The Roosters is home to me and I couldn't see myself playing for another club," he says. "From the top down, I love this club.
"Trent, and the coaches and staff we have here help make me a better player and person every day. It's a privilege to wear the Roosters jersey and I’m excited for what the future holds."
At various times last season, Manu lined up at centre, fullback, wing or half for the Roosters, acquitting himself in all those backline positions, but his campaign ended early, when he suffered a fractured cheekbone, after a high tackle from former teammate Latrell Mitchell.
Born in Hamilton, Manu made his NRL first-grade debut in 2016 and brought up 100 games with the Roosters this year.
"Joseph has been with club since he was a schoolboy, and I've loved watching him develop into the hardworking player and game-changer we all enjoy watching today," says Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
"Joey has an incredible work ethic, and is confident in the player and man that he is. It's great news that his leadership will continue to benefit the Roosters in the coming years."
