NZ Warriors playmaker Sean O'Sullivan has been granted an early release from the club to join the Penrith Panthers on a one-year deal.
O'Sullivan returns to the club he started his career with after stints with the Sydney Roosters, Brisbane Broncos and two seasons with the Warriors.
The 23-year-old played 13 games for the Auckland-based club, scoring two tries playing at five-eighth and halfback.
O'Sullivan played junior footy with the 2021 NRL champion Panthers in 2016 alongside star winger Brian To'o.
"I'm a Penrith junior who grew up in Glenmore Park dreaming of playing for the Panthers, so I'm very excited to come home," O'Sullivan says.
"The opportunity to learn from the great coaches and quality halves at the club was one I simply couldn't pass up.
"I'm going to rip into the pre-season and do everything I can to help the Panthers achieve success again in 2022."
Panthers general manager Matt Cameron says O'Sullivan is an important acquisition to the defending champions, providing depth in the halves alongside Nathan Cleary and James Luai.
"We're confident Sean's experiences as an NRL playmaker to this point have him well-equipped to fulfill an important role for the Panthers next season."
