Kiwi driver Shane van Gisbergen has bolted to an emphatic win at the Supercars SuperNight event in Sydney on Saturday.
Van Gisbergen scored a convincing 17-second win in Race 23 to extend his lead in the Supercards Championship. Teammate Jamie Whincup came in second place to round out a dominant night for the Red Bull Ampol team.
It was the 13th win of the year for van Gisbergen, who now has a 346-point lead in the driver standings over second-placed Whincup.
Will Davison came in third, edging out Nick Percat for the podium.
The cars will return to the track later on Sunday for Race 24 qualifying.
"I'm excited to see how we go tomorrow," says Gisbergen. "Can't thank the team enough. Great job turning it around.
"It was awesome. A good night race."
