Steven Adams' Memphis Grizzlies are up to fourth in the NBA Western Conference, after a comfortable home win over the bumbling Los Angeles Lakers at FedEx Forum.
Adams had a quiet night offensively, but was his usual force on the boards, ending with four points, 13 rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes of play.
The 108-95 win improves the Grizzlies to 15-11 for the season, while the pre-season favourite Lakers have slumped to 13-13, dropping to sixth spot.
Even without star guard Ja Morant, Memphis continued their hot run of form with their sixth win in seven games, thanks to 25 points from Jaren Jackson and 23 from Desmond Bane.
The Lakers never threatened, after dropping the second quarter by double digits, with LeBron James (20) and Anthony Davis (22) top-scoring in a losing effort.
The result piles the pressure on Lakers coach Frank Vogel, whose star-studded squad have gone 5-5 in their last 10 games, leaving the 2019/20 champions nine games behind the conference-leading Golden State Warriors.
