Former Blackcaps slugger Colin Munro has helped his Perth Scorchers ease into the Big Bash playoffs on a winning note, as they dispatched Brisbane Heat by four wickets in their final regular season outing.
Munro compiled a sedate 24 runs off 28 balls and was the last Scorchers batter dismissed, as they chased down a target of 155 runs with more than an over to spare at Adelaide Oval.
His 84-run partnership with Man of the Match Mitchell Marsh set the foundation for victory, before Marsh was dismissed for 59 off 34 balls, still 24 runs short of their goal.
With some teams yet to complete their schedules, Perth have already clinched top spot on the table, with 11 wins from their 14 outings, but must now wait to learn their opponents in the 'qualifier' match for a spot in the final.
Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder are currently tied for second, each with a match in hand - Sixers face Brisbane and Thunder take on Renegades, both on Wednesday.
Sydney Sixers beat Perth Scorchers by 27 runs in last year's final and have won three of the last four championships.
