Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has continued her strong start at the LPGA event in Florida to remain atop the leaderboard at the end of round two.
Starting the day two shots clear, Ko fired a two-under par 70 to take her overall score to 11-under at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Raton.
Her round was a notch below her birdie-laden opening effort of 63, as American Danielle Kang closed the gap to claim a share of the lead.
Japan's Yuka Saso and England's Jodi Ewart Shadoff sit three shots back in a share of third place at seven-under.
A day after her flawless nine-birdie display at the Boca Rio course, the world No. 3 holed four birdies but dropped shots at the seventh and 11th holes.
Ko is just a week removed from her 10th place finish at the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Florida, as she looks to ride her momentum from her resurgent 2021 campaign.
Last year, the 24-year-old snapped her three-year LPGA title streak, won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and the Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average on tour to rocket up the LPGA rankings.
