Kiwi driver Marcus Armstrong has joined Hitech Grand Prix for the 2022 Formula Two season, after leaving Ferrari's driver academy earlier this month.
Armstrong, 21, leaves F2 outfit DAMS to move to Hitech, taking the seat of compatriot Liam Lawson, after his switch to Carlin.
The switch to Hitech represents Armstrong's third Formula Two team in as many years, after driving for ART Grand Prix in 2020 and moving to DAMS last year.
Armstrong endured a difficult 2021 season, finishing 13th in the drivers standings, despite a maiden victory at Jeddah, before Formula One's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The race victory was part of a Kiwi one-two finish, with Lawson taking second place on the podium.
Armstrong's Hitech teammate for the 2022 season will be Estonian Juri Vips, who drove for Red Bull at Formula One's end-of-season testing at Abu Dhabi.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Hitech this season in Formula Two," Armstrong says. "Team principal Oliver Oakes brought me to Europe a few years back and I saw Hitech in the early days.
"Since then, it's transformed into one of the powerhouses of Formula Two and Three.
"I'm looking forward to be working with a successful group of people and giving it everything I've got in my new Hitech team this year."
The move comes after Armstrong called time on his stint with the Ferrari Driver Academy, ending his five-year stint with the motorsport powerhouse.
