NBA: Kiwi Memphis Grizzlies star Steven Adams plays peacemaker by manhandling opposition forward Tony Bradley

Kiwi NBA star Steven Adams has taken matters into his own hands during his red-hot Memphis Grizzlies' clash with Chicago Bulls.

Never one to shy away from physicality, Adams intervened in a scuffle between superstar  teammate Ja Morant and Bulls centre Tony Bradley, literally lifting and carrying his 2.08m (6ft 10in), 112kg counterpart like a rag doll away from the scene of the conflict.

Tempers flared, when Morant took exception to a perceived trip by Bradley, as he drove to the rim late in the fourth quarter. Both players were hit with technical fouls by the referees.

But Adams and his teammates had the last laugh, leading throughout and closing out a 119-106 contest to return to winning ways, after their recent 11-game streak was snapped by Dallas Mavericks.

Adams made another valuable contribution to the Grizzlies cause, pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing six assists to go with a pair of steals and a block.

Point guard Morant continued his breakout season with 25 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Now 31-15 for the season and sitting fourth in the Western Conference, the Grizzlies next face ‘Greek Freak’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.
