Kiwi freeskier Ben Barclay is still coming to terms with the reality that he's actually going to represent New Zealand at the Winter Olympics, just days out from his Games debut.
Barclay, 19, was a late call-up for New Zealand's Winter Olympics contingent, after a second-place finish at the Slopestyle World Cup in France earlier this year.
As a first-timer at the Winter Olympics, Barclay isn't alone among the Kiwi contingent - with seven athletes appearing at a Games for the first time
And now on the ground in Beijing, Barclay himself says that he's still not quite got his head around the enormity of what's to come over the coming weeks.
"I got in yesterday and put the Olympic kit on and whatnot, had a stroll around," Barclay tells Newshub.
"I don't think it's quite hit yet, that it's the Olympics. It kind of just feels like we're sheep almost, just following people around, telling us what to do and answering questions and whatnot.
"But I think once we get some skis on the ground and stuff, it'll all settle in and the job will be on."
Barclay begins his Winter Olympics campaign on Monday (NZ time), in qualifying for the men's freeski big air.
