Blackcaps pair Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult were the big Kiwi winners at Saturday's Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction, both winning million-dollar contracts for their services.
After impressing in the IPL during his last stint with Mumbai Indians, Boult was placed in the auction's 'marquee player' list and was the first Kiwi drawn out of the hat on Saturday night.
And after a brief bidding war, the 32-year-old was sold to Rajasthan Royals for 8 crore, or just over NZ$1.6 million.
Boult joins Rajasthan, whose fellow overseas players contain the likes of England's Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer of the West Indies.
But it was the second Kiwi out of the hat, Ferguson, who was the real winner for the Kiwi contingent on the auction's first day.
The Blackcaps' fastest bowler was also subject of a bidding war, before he was sold to newcomers Gujarat Titans for a massive 10 crore, or just over NZ$2 million.
Ferguson joins the likes of England's Jason Roy and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan as Gujarat's overseas players.
Boult and Ferguson join Kane Williamson as Kiwis to play in the 2022 IPL, after the Blackcaps captain was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Other big names to sell on day one included Australian captain Pat Cummins, who fetched $1.44m to Kolkata Knight Riders, South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, sold to Punjab Kings for $1.84m, and India batter Shreyas Iyer - who was sold for $2.44m to Kolkata.
There are still a total of 50 overseas spots available for teams to fill on the auction's second day on Sunday, with 22 other New Zealanders still to be drawn.
