White Ferns batter Brooke Halliday will miss the final two matches of New Zealand's one day international (ODI) series against India after being deemed a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case.
Halliday's partner has tested positive for COVID-19 while the team are based in Queenstown, meaning she's required to isolate for seven days as a close contact.
The 26-year-old returned a negative COVID-19 test on Monday, and will be tested again on day five of her isolation. Provided Halliday tests negative, she would be able to rejoin the White Ferns on Friday, missing the final two ODIs, played on Tuesday and Thursday.
"This is obviously a frustrating time for Brooke," says coach Bob Carter.
"But she's remaining upbeat, and as a team we're supporting her and checking in on her by phone etc. Of course, we're looking forward to her re-joining the team once she's met the appropriate protocols.
Elsewhere, the trio of Lea Tahuhu, Maddy Green and Fran Jonas have all been ruled out of the fourth ODI.
Fast bowler Tahuhu is being rested as a precaution after leaving the field hurt during the third ODI, but will still act as a substitute fielder if required.
Green and Jonas will both sit out with injuries to their respective right hands, and will be monitored before Thursday's final ODI.
The White Ferns currently lead the series 3-0 after last week sealing their ODI series victory.
