Wellington Phoenix have squandered the chance for four successive A-League Men's victories, held to a 1-1 draw against Adelaide United in Sydney.
With victories over Macarthur FC and Melbourne Victory this week alone, the Phoenix could have made it three wins in the space of seven days, and looked odds-on to do so when winger Gael Sandoval opened the scoring in the 20th minute.
But in the second minute of second-half stoppage time, Brazilian winger Bernardo Oliveira rose highest to head the ball past Phoenix goalkeeper Oli Sail after a cross from defender Josh Cavallo.
And after his side's impressive run of form, Phoenix head coach Ufuk Talay concedes the result was two points dropped rather than a point won.
"I think we created enough opportunities to win the game but weren't clinical enough today and disappointed that we conceded so late," he says.
"We could have walked away with the three points but at the end of the day we didn't lose and we continue."
The draw keeps the Phoenix in seventh on the A-League Men's ladder, just one point shy of the top six, albeit having played one game more than Macarthur above them in sixth.
Talay's side will be back in action on Wednesday night, facing 11th-place Brisbane Roar at Sydney's Leichhardt Oval.
