The winner is Dame Lisa Carrington, our most successful Olympian, after her three gold medals at Tokyo. This is her second win in the Supreme Award category and well deserved.
That's it for another year - let the debates begin on a) who was snubbed this year and b) who will win next year. Maybe a Winter Olympian or two in the running already...

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the 2022 Halberg Awards at Auckland's Spark Arena.
Given we're all operating under COVID-19 'red light' conditions, with their limits on crowd sizes, tonight's awards ceremony will be somewhat smaller than usual, but what they lack in quantity, they more than make up for in quality.
Remember, due to COVID's impact on world sport in 2020, last year's awards were revamped to highlight the best achievements over the 2010-19 decade, with rowers Eric Murray and Hamish Bond taking home the spoilts.
To compensate for that gap in history, this year's awards cover 2020/21, but probably only Scott Dixon's IndyCar championship dates back more than 12 months.
Finalists in each category are:
Sportswoman of the Year: Dame Lisa Carrington (canoe racing), Courtney Duncan (motocross), Sarah Hirini (sevens), Lydia Ko (golf), Emma Twigg (rowing)
Sportsman of the Year: Hamish Bond (rowing), Paul Coll (squash), Scott Dixon (motorsport), Kane Williamson (cricket)
Team of the Year: Blackcaps (cricket), Team New Zealand (sailing), Men's rowing eight, Women's rowing pair Kerri Gowler and Grace Prendergast
Para-athlete of the Year: Lisa Adams (athletics), Anna Grimaldi (athletics), Tupou Neuifi (swimming), Dame Sophie Pascoe (swimming), Holly Robinson (athletics)
Coach of the Year: Allan Bunting and Cory Sweeney (sevens), Tony O'Connor (rowing), Gary Stead (cricket), Gordon Walker (canoe racing)
Emerging Talent: Connor Bell (athletics), Erika Fairweather (swimming), Grace Nweke (netball), Marko Stamenic (football), Cool Wakushima (snowboarding)
Best Sporting Moment: Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Nico Porteous win gold on the same day at world champs (snow sports), Team NZ drama in race eight of the America's Cup final (sailing), Blackcaps' Ross Taylor hits winning runs to secure World Test Cricket Championship for New Zealand (cricket), Rowing men's eight win gold at Tokyo Olympics (rowing), Black Ferns Sevens win gold at Tokyo Olympics (rugby), Emma Twigg wins gold in the Olympic single sculls on her fourth attempt (rowing), Triathlete Hayden Wilde claiming bronze at Tokyo Olympics (triathlon), Ruby Tui gives entertaining post-match interview after Black Ferns Sevens win (rugby), Trampolinist Dylan Schmidt wins bronze to claim New Zealand’s first ever Olympics gymnastics medal, (gymnastics), Lisa Carrington wins K1 500m to become NZ's most successful Olympian (canoe racing)
