NZ Breakers have been put to the sword by Melbourne United in their Australian NBL clash on Sunday.
The defending champions were too strong for the Kiwi side, establishing an early lead which ballooned to as much as 40 points on their way to a 108-73 victory.
The Breakers had no answer for the clinical inside-outside game run by United, as the competition leaders dominated the boards and shot 52 percent from the field to pull away at the top of the table.
'Next Star' Hugo Besson was one of the lone bright spots for the Breakers, scoring 17 points to go with five rebounds and five assists, while import Peyton Siva added 17 points of his own.
The Breakers sit ninth of 10 on the competition ladder, with the 10th-placed Taipans - who they edged six days ago in a thriller - holding two games in hand.
They'll have a chance to right the ship against the Illawarra Hawks on March 1.
