Shane Warne's two eldest children - Brooke and Jackson - have paid fitting tribute to their father's memory, flipping the coin before St Kilda's AFL season-opener against Collingwood.
Widely regarded as one of the best cricketers to play the game, Warne, 52,died earlier this month of a heart attack, while on holiday in Thailand.
But Warne's career could have been so much different, had it gone down the path he'd initially intended.
For all his brilliance as a cricketer, Warne's first great sporting love was AFL, where he represented St Kilda at youth level, before being released. Warne's rejection from the AFL only pushed him towards cricket, but his love for the game never waned and he was a lifelong fan of the club.
Draped in St Kilda scarves, Jackson and Brooke Warne were invited onto the pitch before Friday's season-opener, as the club paid tribute to arguably its most famous fan.
The numbers 708, representing the number of test wickets he took, and 23, representing his ODI shirt number, were also painted onto the field at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium.
"Warnie was a great Saints man, who loved this footy club," says St Kilda captain Jack Steele. "It's a privilege to be able to represent Shane onfield, and I hope we do him and all Saints fans proud."
A private funeral will be held for Warne on Sunday, while a state funeral is scheduled for the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, March 30.
