Forwards Tom Vodanovich and Rob Loe have powered the Tall Blacks to a second win over India, completing World Cup qualifying group play unbeaten at Manilla.

After overwhelming their rivals by 55 points in their opening game last week, New Zealand found their rivals a tougher proposition, as they emerged 95-60 victors.

India trailled just 24-20 after the opening quarter, but went scoreless for seven minutes of the second, as the Tall Blacks unleashed 23 unanswered points to take full control of the contest.

Without many of his frontline players for this stage of World Cup qualifying, coach Pero Cameron again relied heavily on players with international experience, led by double doubles from Vodanovich (20 points/10 rebounds) and Loe (18/10).

New Zealand outrebounded their opponents 48-29, including 20 offensive boards, while converting 11 three-pointers, with Vodanovich dropping four from the arc.

The Tall Blacks also accounted for hosts Philippines over the weekend and were helped in their qualifying efforts by the withdrawal of Korea, after a COVID-19 outbreak.

New Zealand 95 (Vodanovich 20, Loe 18, Prewster 11, Britt 10) India 65 ( Prince, Krishnan & Bhrigsuvanshi 10)
