Bob Carter is stepping down from his role as head coach of the White Ferns.
Carter was contracted until the end of the World Cup, where the team's disappointing performance has seen the pressure on his position ramp up.
Playing with home advantage, the White Ferns lost four of their seven matches and failed to advance to the semi-final stage of the tournament.
The 61-year-old will return to his high performance role with NZ Cricket.
Carter has been at the helm of the White Ferns since 2019, taking over from Haiden Tiffen after the team's struggles at the Twenty20 World Cup in 2018.
The team's tenure under Carter has been rocky, winning just nine of their 20 one-day internationals and nine of 11 Twenty 20 internationals.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the White Ferns," says Carter.
"I've formed some special bonds through this journey and I look forward to continuing working with our female and male cricketers in my high performance role."
