A bumper month of rugby is on the way for two of our top female referees, with Maggie Cogger-Orr and Lauren Jenner earning call-ups for the upcoming Women's Six Nations.
They've been centrestage for the inaugural Super Rugby Aupiki, but the spotlight is about to shine even brighter.
The pair will become just the second and third New Zealanders to officiate a women's Six Nations match, after a long wait for Kiwi officials to get back to the international game.
"It's such an honour and it’s very similar to how players feel, getting to represent your home union and New Zealand Rugby," Cogger-Orr tells Newshub.
Jenner and Cogger-Orr will be the first Kiwi women to referee an international since 2014, and feel the exposure of Super Rugby Aupiki has been crucial in helping get there.
"Super Rugby Aupiki does give us the opportunity to have full teams of three, have TMOs, have all these things you need to be quite accustomed to before you go to the next level," Cogger-Orr says.
Jenner will referee Italy v Scotland, while Cogger-Orr will control Wales v France and Ireland v Scotland.
They aren't shying away from the heightened stakes, if they want to become regulars on the international circuit.
"One decision in one game could be quite crucial into the selection process, so you don't want to get ahead of yourself," Jenner says.
Just getting the call-up is an achievement in itself. Only 100 female referees operate in New Zealand and just six of those are in the high performance programme, but big things could soon be on the way.
"I don't think we're too far away from having a full-time professional referee, when you look at what the international calendar is going to start looking like," says NZ Rugby referee manager Bryce Lawrence.
With elevation to the international game comes more intense scrutiny.
"Bring it on, I say," insists Jenner.
