COVID-19 continues to take a toll on the ANZ Premiership, with this week's marquee match-up between Northern Mystics and Mainland Tactix postponed, as the southerners battle their Omnicron outbreak.
Three matches went unplayed last weekend - including the Tactix Auckland doubleheader against Mystics and Northern Stars - and it's only Tuesday.
The latest delay means a second consecutive week that the competition can't stage a rematch of last year's grand final, where Mystics dispatched Tactix for their maiden domestic title.
Mystics are currently runaway leaders of the premiership, with four wins from five outings, their only loss suffered in their season-opener against Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic, when they were missing several key players.
Meanwhile, crosstown rivals Northern Stars have been the hardest hit by the coronavirus, playing just two of their scheduled games so far this season.
Magic will face Southern Steel on Saturday and the Stars on Sunday, while Central Pulse will take on Steel on Monday.
