Blackcaps captain Kane Williamson has played a starring role in Sunrisers Hyderabad's eight-wicket win over Gujurat Titans in their Indian Premier League clash on Tuesday.
Williamson blasted 57 runs off 46 balls to spearhead the Sunrisers' pursuit of their 163-run target to earn Player of the Match honours.
The 31-year-old blasted two fours and six sixes, including one off the bowling of Blackcaps teammate Lockie Ferguson, who he scooped over fine leg for six to raise his 50-run milestone.
He escaped a big shout for LBW in the opening over of the innings off the bowling off Hardik Pandya, with replays later revealing he should've have been adjudged out.
Pandya eventually had Williamson caught at long-on but the damage was already done, as West Indies star Nicholas Pooran entered to slam an unbeaten 34 off 18 balls to steer the Sunrisers home.
Ferguson finished the game with an expensive spell of 46 runs from his fours overs with no wickets.
The win is the second in the opening four games for the Sunrisers, who sit eighth of 10 on the IPL ladder.
