Australia have powered to a comprehensive 3-1 win over the Football Ferns in their women's international friendly in Canberra on Tuesday.
After leaving it until stoppage time to claim two late winners in their first meeting four days ago - a 2-1 win in Townsville - the hosts took a stranglehold on the match early and held on for a straightforward victory to maintain their 28-year unbeaten streak against their trans-Tasman foes.
Playing in front of a home crowd of over 13,000, the Matilda struck twice in quick succession, with Chelsea forward Sam Kerr heading home from a corner in the 15th minute.
Two minutes later, Hayley Raso found some space at the top of the box and blasted a low shot past the out-stretched arms of NZ goalkeeper Erin Nayler.
Kerr had her second in the 32nd minute, taking advantage of a superb long pass to outpace the defense and slide home a clinical finish to give her side a daunting 3-0 lead.
Hannah Wilkinson managed to peg one back for the visitors before halftime, latching on to a ball from Olivia Chance and holding off the Australian defenders to put her saved first strike back into goal.
It was one of only a couple of chances for the Kiwis, who were able to withstand a barrage from the Australians in the second half and prevent any further damage.
Australia 3 (Sam Kerr 15' 32', Hayley Raso 17') Football Ferns 1 (Hannah Wilkinson 45'+3). HT: 3-1
