North Queensland Cowboys have fought back to beat Canberra Raiders in their NRL showdown.
The visitors overcame a 12-0 halftime deficit at GIO Stadium, completely flipping the script in the second stanza to bounce back from their heartbreaking golden-point loss to NZ Warriors last weekend.
Meanwhile, the Raiders lamented letting yet another double-digit lead slip from their grasp and their supporters let them know about it, with a string of boos when the team left the field at the end of the game.
In the third minute of the match, Tom Starling darted over the line from dummy half to open the scoring, with Kiwis wing Jordan Rapana downing again almost immediately to give the Raiders a 12-0 advantage after just five minutes of play.
The Cowboys managed to prevent any further damage, before emerging from the sheds with far more purpose, as Heilum Luki powered over for his team's first try.
That began the momentum shift, with Valentine Holmes carving through some weak defence to score under the crossbar.
Impressive Auckland-born Jeremiah Nanai, 19, then pounced upon a pinpoint kick by Scott Drinkwater to score the matchwinning try.
The win lifts the Cowboys to fifth on the NRL ladder, while the Raiders fall to 13th.
