NZ Warriors have added to their forward pack for 2023, signing Newcastle Knights back-rower Mitchell Barnett on a three-year deal.
His arrival comes with the Warriors preparing to say goodbye to centre-turned-back-rower Euan Aitken, who has been granted an early release to stay in Australia before the Kiwi club return home next year.
Barnett has so far notched over 100 appearances for the Knights, and will reunite with coach Nathan Brown after the pair's time together in Newcastle.
"The Warriors presented me with an opportunity to further my game," said Barnett.
"I have personal goals of playing representative football and I am also looking forward to working with Brownie again.
"The Warriors impressed me on and off the field which made my decision easier."
Barnett adds to the Warriors' new recruits for 2023 and will join fellow new additions Marata Niukore, Dylan Walker and Luke Metcalf at the Kiwi club.
