NZ Warriors will seek formal clarification on a number of incidents they aren't happy with from Sunday's defeat to Sydney Roosters.
Newshub understands the club will ask for a please explain from the NRL's referees boss, Graham Annesley.
But while they want answers, coach Nathan Brown is looking at their own costly mistakes from the 22-14 loss.
Addin Fonua Blake's captain's challenge wasn't successful, despite Angus Crichton appearing to knock the ball out of his hands as the Tongan prop tried to play the ball.
It's just one of a number of calls the Warriors are seeking formal clarification on from Annesley, as well as a disallowed try to centre Jesse Arthars.
Some of the decisions came at crucial times in the match.
Arthars' no try came with scores locked at 8-8, while Fonua Blake's unsuccessful challenge was off the back of a try to bring them back in the game, thanks to some magic from Reece Walsh.
Roosters captain James Tedesco avoiding the sin bin in the first half will also be looked at, with the club understood to be unhappy with a 'culmination' of things.
Despite the Warriors' frustration at the officials Brown also concedes they had plenty of missed opportunities.
"Certainly, the referee's not why we're sitting here on the losing side," he said post-match.
"We've got some things we need to worry about ourselves. We didn't play enough football so they certainly won the yardage game. We spent a lot of time on our try line.
"I'm not interested in talking about those things to be honest with you."
After holding a lead at the break, things unravelled for the Warriors at the start of the second half as the Roosters gained momentum.
"To come out and, I guess, just leave our words in the sheds, it's what we spoke about there on the field," halfback Shaun Johnson said. "That's the most disappointing thing. You can say the right things, but when you don't back it up, what's the point?
"We just couldn't get anything going, couldn't get any ruck speed. They had pretty good line speed all day. Same things to work on man, that's for sure.
"As much as we're going to look at ourselves and improve, I just think mentally we come out and start the second half like we did, it's just really disappointing."
The Warriors were left looking at themselves as well as the officials after a game to forget.
