All Blacks Sevens have made a winning return to the World Series circuit in Singapore.
The Olympic silver medallists beat Argentina 12-10 in their opening match of the tournament on Saturday, before downing Scotland 19-17 and Wales 43-5 to finish at the top of Pool C and book their place in the quarter-finals.
It's the first event the team have attended for over two years due to the travel complications caused by COVID-19.
After the Pumas crossed the try line first, Sam Dickson responded for the New Zealanders, looming in support to finish in the corner.
Moments before halftime, Moses Leo marked his debut by finishing a well-worked setpiece move to put All Blacks Sevens ahead 12-5 at the interval.
The Pumas stormed into the second half to quickly claim their second try and close to within two points.
Argentina dominated territory and possession for the remainder of the half, as New Zealand clung to their advantage.
Dickson was sent to the sinbin for a late tackle with just 30 seconds left on the clock, opening the door for one final raid by Argentina.
But strangely - despite their man advantage - the Pumas chose to take a difficult shot at goal, which fell short to end the game.
New Zealand will face Samoa in the quarter-final on Sunday afternoon.
