Kiwi snow star Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has claimed another podium finish in the final stop of the 2022 Natural Selection tour in Alaska.
Riding head-to-head with snowboarding great Hana Bareman of the US, Sadowski-Synnott took the lead, after a daring first run on the remote feature-rich backcountry.
But the Olympic gold medallist came unstuck early in her second run, taking a tumble in an attempt to go large off a huge feature no other competitors dared take on.
She recovered to continue, only to crash out again, after landing another big spinning trick.
The fall struck a big blow to her score, as Beaman emerged victorious to advance to the final, where she beat France's Marion Haerty, and consign Sadowski-Synnott to third place.
For the first time on the tour, Sadowski-Synnott failed to progress through to a final, after qualifying for the a spot in the last four with her win at Baldface, Colorado last month.
The bronze medal marks Sadowski-Synnott's eighth podium finish from as many events this season, including her slopestyle gold and Big Air silver medals at the Beijing Winter Olympics, and a pair of gold medals in the same disciplines at the Aspen X Games.
