The Northern Stars have bounced back to claim a narrow 47-46 win over Central Pulse in their ANZ Premiership rematch at Palmerston North on Sunday.
Five days after falling to a 10-goal defeat to the same side, the Stars reversed their fortunes with an improved performance in all aspects, leading for the majority of the match and holding on to close out a memorable victory.
After a shaky start, Silver Ferns shooter Maia Wilson found her range to set the tone, while Jamie Hume repaid her coach's faith with a superb outing at goal-attack, including some clutch plays down the stretch with the game in the balance.
Gina Crampton and Mila Reuelu-Buchanan both ensured the Stars' circle was provided with plenty of quality ball, as their relentless offence kept their side's nose in front to the final whistle
The result leaves the Stars in fourth spot but edging closer to the Pulse, who jumped to the top of the ladder with a bonus point, and the second-placed Mystics.
The Stars move on to face the Magic on Saturday, while the Pulse head south to take on the Steel.
